This detail shows the construction used in building Fort Halifax located in Winslow.


Built in 1754, the blockhouse was the only remaining structure of the larger complex called Fort Halifax.

The fort was built in the Maine wilderness of present-day Winslow just before the French and Indian Wars. It was reconstructed after a flood in 1987.
