A trench and pipes are part of a project to upgrade the water supply from Sebago Lake to Portland in 1923.

Portland's Water District constructed a new intake and conduit at Sebago Lake to convey water to the transmission mains in order to provide more water to the Greater Portland area, including Biddeford and Brunswick.
