One of the earliest printed maps of Maine after it separated from Massachusetts and became a state in 1820 shows towns and counties.

This map was used in dividing lands between Maine and Massachusetts.

Moses Greenleaf, who drew the map, lived in Williamsburg and wrote two important reference books on the state and produced many maps.
