Image Info Newton Plummer, who had lived at Good Will as a boy from 1904-1906 and was a financial writer in New York, erected the monument to Theodore Roosevelt after the death of the former president in 1919.

Plummer obtained a stone from Roosevelt's estate at Sagamore Hill to be part of the monument. The monument was dedicated on Sept. 5, 1921.
It honors Roosevelt's role in promoting conservation.
