Image Info

This photograph shows the main docks and coaling facilities at the Lamoine Coaling Station on Frenchman Bay in Maine built to supply coal to the U.S. Atlantic Fleet. When diesel replaced coal as the fuel for naval vessels, the site was turned over to the State of Maine and is now Lamoine State Park.
