Image Info

The railroad bridge that was located between Ellsworth and Ellsworth Falls is being swept downstream on the Union River.

The Bangor Railway and Electric Company's storage dam had given way, resulting in the flooding of downtown Ellsworth.

Flooding occurred throughout the watersheds of the Kennebec, Union, Penobscot, and Pleasant Rivers.
