Modern mechanized throwing or spinning machinery at the Haskell Silk Company's new mill in Westbrook.

The Haskell Silk Company in Westbrook employed 300 workers in 1907 and was located on the banks of the Presumpscot River, as silk manufacture requires a great deal of fresh water.

Haskell silk products were considered the finest in the country.
