The White's daughter was referred to as Alice Mae when she was very young and became simply Mae when she was older. Her married name was Mae White Cleveland.

This photograph was taken by (Edward) E. B. White, a merchant with a jewelry shop diagonally to the south-west across Market Square in Houlton. He was an active amateur photographer.
