Tintype of Edward L. Parsons (left) and C. W. Parsons of Peaks Island. Edward L. Parsons (1844-1907) worked as a Portland Harbor pilot, alongside his father-in-law David Poor. His brother C. W. (Charles William) Parsons (1837-1870) was adopted into the family by Edward's parents, Charles and Eliza (Lincoln) Parsons, sometime before 1850. C.W. was also a seaman. He was lost at sea in February of 1870. The family erected a monument to him in Pond Grove Cemetery on Peaks Island.
