Image Info

This image is part of a photographic series taken on Stanley Hill in Kingfield, in the hometown of photographer Chansonetta Stanley Emmons. Emmons lived in Eastern Massachusetts during her adult life, but spent summers with her daughter in the Kingfield area. On yearly trips to Kingfield, Chansonetta comprehensively documented rural life in Maine. She captured farmers at work, landscapes, domestic scenes, as well as striking staged interiors of friends and family.
